Romanian Govt Decides Spouses Of Insured People Must Contribute Or Lose Health Insurance

The spouse or parents of an insured person will no longer be considered insured in the Romanian public healthcare system without paying the required contributions, unless they have a source of income themselves, according to an emergency ordinance amending the Law on healthcare reform.

The ordinance excludes the husband, wife and parents without their own income, who are in the care of an insured person, from the category of people receiving healthcare without paying a contribution.
