Government approves Fiscal Code amendments

The Government on Thursday approved the Fiscal Code amendments, which stipulate putting the excises in agreement with the norms of the European Union, introducing the single statement, the 3 percent tax for micro-enterprises, as well as introducing the tax on unreported incomes of unknown nature of natural persons.

Public Finance Minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu said at the end of the Government meeting that, starting in 2011, micro enterprises could choose the 3 percent of the total revenues tax system as an alternative to the 16 percent of the tax on profit. To be able to choose this system, a company must have 1 to 9 employees and a maximum 100,000-euro turnover in the previous year, Ialomitianu added.
