Transports Minister Ramona Manescu in Galati (eastern Romania), on Thursday, said that the privatisation process of CFR Marfa was resumed, but that, this time, the procedure would not be hurried, as there was not any time limit.

‘The procedure has been resumed immediately after the conclusion of the first procedure. The Prime Minister announced in a Government meeting the resumption of the procedure and we are currently discussing a calendar. Yesterday, we had a first meeting with the International Monetary Fund [IMF] and with Ministry experts for talks on this calendar. We want this privatisation made in the state’s favour and in complete legality. The procedure will take time, there is no time limit. We even discussed this with the IMF and they said that, if the first procedure was a bit hurried, this one should go very well and be a success. Therefore, we shall no longer hurry. This was the message the IMF gave us,’ Manescu said.
