Romania’s December Net Salary Up 8.6% M-M At RON1,496

Romania’s net average salary in December was at 1,496 lei (EUR1=RON4.2609), up 8.6% compared with the previous month, due to granting of bonuses, for vacations or the winter holidays, production increases, and to returning from furlough, the country's statistics institute said Friday. The gross average salary was at RON2,067 in December, up 8.8% from the previous month, the statistics data showed. Employees in the brokerage sector saw, in December, the biggest average net salaries of RON4,100, while hotel and restaurants' employees were at the opposite pole, with RON856.
