Romanian Govt To Reduce Coastal Building Line To Half

Romania's Government wants to increase the central tourism authority's role on the Black Sea coast and reduce the coastal building line (the area where building is prohibited) to 50-150 meters from 100-300 meters, according to a draft emergency ordinance by the Tourism Ministry. The act amends emergency ordinance 202/2002, concerning the integrated management of the coastal area. It repeals the rule whereby the coastal area is defined according to territorial management and urban plans, "through the care of local public authorities." Read more on Mediafax.ro
