Romanian Drivers Must Use Snow Or All-Season Tires In Winter

Romanian drivers will be required to use snow tires or all-season tires during the winter months, or face fines between 2,500 and 4,000 lei (EUR1=RON4.2619), Transport Minister Anca Boagiu announced Wednesday. This requirement was introduced through an ordinance approved in the Government's meeting on Wednesday. The state expects to earn as much as EUR445 million from the VAT collected from tire sales.
