Romania Worker Remittances At $38.8B In 2005-2010

Romanian worker remittances reached $38.819 billion in 2005-2010, with 2007 and 2008 being the most productive years for the nationals working abroad, according to a survey from the World Bank. In 2009, Romanian workers sent $4.9 billion abroad, the equivalent of 4.4% of the gross domestic product, the data showed. The World Bank estimates total worker remittances would reach $4.5 billion in 2010. Read more on Mediafax.ro
