Romania Nov Retail Sales Post Largest Annual Drop In EU

Romanian retail sales fell 8.9% on the year in November, the largest decrease in the European Union, official data showed Thursday. EU retail sales fell 0.8% in November compared with the year-earlier month, EU's statistics agency Eurostat said. Among the member states for which data are available, total retail trade rose in 12 and fell in 5. The highest increases were observed in Poland (+11.8%), Latvia (+8.1%) and Estonia (+7.5%), and the largest decreases in Romania, Bulgaria (-5.2%) and Portugal (-4.7%). Read more on Mediafax.ro
