Romania Ctrl Bk Gov: New IMF Deal To Ensure Reform Continuity

Romania’s planned follow-up agreement with the International Monetary Fund represents a keystone for the country’s structural reforms and its main objective will be ensuring the continuity of the process, central bank governor Mugur Isarescu said Monday.

Speaking at a banking meeting, Isarescu said the size of the new loan agreement is less important than the continuity of the reform process, participants to the meeting told Mediafax.

They said the central bank favors a two-year deal with the IMF and the European Commission, similar to the EUR20 billion loan agreement signed back in 2009.
