PM Boc: No VAT or flat tax reduction in view

At this moment, the government has no intention to reduce the value added tax (VAT) or the flat tax, as some employer organizations have requested, Prime Minister Emil Boc declared. After talks with employer organizations and trade unions, the PM was asked if he would grant the request of the business environment to have the standard VAT and the flat tax reduced from the current 24 pct, and 16 pct, respectively. “Not at this time,” replied Emil Boc.
