MFP and EIB sign two financing contracts worth almost 500 million euros

Minister of Public Finance Gheorghe Ialomitianu and vice-president of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Wilhelm Molterer on Friday signed two financing contracts, whose total value amounts to 497.65 million euros.

The first loan, 465 million euros, for the project on modernizing the Underground, is granted for 25 years, with a 6-year grace period, and the second loan, 32.65 million euros, meant for an environment project at the Electrocentrale company in Paroseni (southern Romania), has a 15-year maturity, with a 4-year grace period, said Minister Gheorghe Ialomitianu.

The official of the Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) made it clear that the interests to the two loans were accessible and were below 4 percent.

The second loan is meant for financing the project on the modernization of the Bucharest Underground, stage 5, stretch 5 between Drumul Taberei and Pantelimon, section between the University and Pantelimon.
