Former head of Băneasa airport recruited by Qatar Airways

George Mihalcea, 50, former general manager of Aurel Vlaicu (Băneasa) airport, has been appointed as airport services manager with Qatar Airways airline, one of the world's biggest, which will operate flights on the Romanian market starting January 17. Qatar's national airline, which last year shipped 12 million passengers and operates on 92 routes of Europe, Africa, South America, Asia and the Middle East, is part of the five-star category and has been designated as the best airline of the Middle East for five consecutive years.
