The first figures reported by couriers show the market is recovering and this year's forecasts are even more upbeat.

DPD courier (the former Pegasus), controlled by France's GeoPost together with Turkey's Yurtici Kargo, ended last year with turnover worth 29m RON (6.9m euros), up 30% in RON from last year, according to the company's officials and ZF calculations.

"The increase came as we expanded collaboration with certain major clients and contracted new clients, particularly from the field of e-commerce and from the retail one," stated Sorin Ghinescu, a marketing and corporate manager with DPD, without specifying the clients' names.
