Traian Basescu received Pirelli Group President Marco Tronchetti Provera at the Presidential Palace yesterday, thanking him for continuing to invest in Romania and talking with him about the need for cost restructuring, telling him that governments should apply the measure too, Mediafax informs.

In his turn, Marco Tronchetti Provera stated that one has to resort to restructuring during the crisis. “The times are tough, everyone knows this, but when the times are tough there are opportunities too. You prepare for the period that follows. When you’re so close to a disaster, like we are, even stopping at the right time is an opportunity for development,” Pirelli President stated.
