Basarab overpass builders: We are opening it for traffic only if the weather is good

The opening of the Basarab Overpass in Bucharest in a month's time, in April, is conditioned on the weather, say its builders - Italy's Astaldi and Spain's FCC Construction, after Sorin Oprescu, mayor of Bucharest, said a few days ago that the overpass would be open for traffic in a month's time at the latest. The overpass, which will connect the south-west of Bucharest with the north of the city over Dâmboviţa and over the railway track, is of strategic importance for the city's road infrastructure, but the cold weather does not allow for concrete to be poured at the moment, which would be one of the last stages of the building work.
