Basarab overpass builder looks to other projects

The domestic subsidiary of Spain's FCC Construccion constructions group, with turnover of around 110m euros last year, wants to expand its operations, adding railway or airport infrastructure works, whereas it has so far contracted only road infrastructure projects domestically. "While at present we're operating only in the field of road infrastructure, in the following period we are going to diversify our operations in the field of airports, railways or stadiums, where we can benefit from the expertise of our parent company," Sebastien Picaut, general manager of the Romanian subsidiary of FCC Construccion, told ZF. The company is the builder of Bucharest's Basarab overpass, together with Italy's Astaldi. Over the past 18 months, FCC Construccion has finalised the rehabilitation of 150 km of national roads.
