Romania’s population decreased in July 2012 by 2,206 persons from June, while the June’s decline from the previous month was 3,984, the National Statistics Institute (INS) announced.
As many as 18,728 newborns were registered in July 2012 (accounting for a birth rate of 10.3 per 1,000 inhabitants), by 2,779 more than in June.
The number of deaths this July was 20,934 (11.6 deceased per 1,000 inhabitants), by 1,001 more than in June.
The number of infants under the age of one who died in July 2012 was 125 (6.7 infants aged below one year per 1,000 live births), down in comparison with June 2012, when the rate was 9.5 per 1,000 live births.
