Romanian Transporters Blame Govt For Fuel Price Hike

Romanian transporters blame the Government for the increase in fuel prices due to the value added tax and excise hike, as well as the leu's depreciation against the euro and the dollar. Transporters ask authorities to refund commercial transport excises and call for transparency regarding gasoline and diesel oil prices. "The Government is responsible for the high price of fuel. We can fill up in other countries to put pressure on the state," National Union of Romanian Transporters (UNTRR) vice-president Ion Lixandru told a news conference on Tuesday.
