Romanian Regional Development and Tourism Minister Elena Udrea said Tuesday, in a meeting with tour operators, that she wants to privatize the hotels managed by the State Protocol Patrimony Administration (RA-APPS).

The hotels should be sold through transparent public auctions, as soon as possible, said Udrea.

She added that Bulgaria sold the hotels on its seaside to German investors 20 years ago, whereas Romania's hotels have ended up in the hands of "government friends" and today are in ruins.
