Romanian Senate Chairman Challenges Constitutionality Of Education Law

Romanian Senate Chairman Mircea Geoana on Wednesday challenged the education law, arguing that its adoption through a vote of confidence in the Government was unconstitutional, but also contesting its content. In his complaint to the Constitutional Court, Geoana, a social democrat and member of the opposition, says the education bill was adopted despite having been sent back to the Government on November 30, through a decision by the Parliament's Standing Bureaus.
