Members of Romania’s ruling coalition decided Monday the Government will back changes to the local election law to allow for mayors to be elected in a single round of elections, Culture Minister Kelemen Hunor told Mediafax.
"The entire coalition agreed and backs this amendment to have mayors elected in a single round of elections," said Kelemen.
He added the coalition has not yet decided whether the current local election law is to be amended through a bill that is already in Parliament or through a bill to be drafted by the Government.
