Romanian President Attends Celebrations Of Kuwait’s Independence

Romanian President Traian Basescu attended Saturday in Kuwait celebrations of the country’s 50-year anniversary of its independence and 20 years of freedom from Iraqi occupancy. The Romanian head of state met and exchanged gifts with Emir Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The president's office said in a press release Kuwait extended an invitation to the Romanian president to attend celebrations in sign of recognition of the role Romania had in helping Kuwait break free from Iraqi rule.
