Romanian judge Horatius Dumbrava on Friday was elected High Council of Magistrates (CSM) president with 15 votes in favor and three votes against.
The new members of the Romanian High Council of Magistrates convened earlier Friday to elect a new president and vice-president.
Both President Traian Basescu and the justice minister have recently called on the High Council of Magistrates to postpone electing a new president and vice-president until January 20, after the Constitutional Court rules over the validation of the council's members.
