Romania To Increase Foreign Mission Participation By 183 Troops In 2011

Romania will increase its participation to foreign military operations by 183 troops in 2011, bringing its maximum foreign force to 3,427 troops, as per a Tuesday decision of the Supreme Defense Council.

Out of the total force, 2,525 troops are already deployed abroad; their number may be increased by a further 902.

The Council has also approved increasing Romania's participation to the European Union's mission in Kosovo by five gendarmes.
