Romanian energy regulator ANRE may keep applying current pricing regulations for electricity and gas beyond 2015, for certain categories of clients, despite deregulation agreements concluded between the government and the International Monetary Fund.
The information is included in a draft emergency ordinance proposed by ANRE to implement several European directives. According to the document, price regulation for all client categories will be maintained until the end of 2015, and extended, by need, for certain categories of clients.
The IMF asked Romania to present, by September, a calendar for gas and electricity price deregulation. The operation would conclude by 2013 for companies and by 2015 for household clients.
