Romania January Car Sales Up 16% On Year To 4,399 Units

Romanian new passenger car sales rose 16% on the year, to 4,399 units in January, the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association, or APIA, said Friday. However, the car sales were down 35% from 6,761 units in December 2010, the data showed. Dacia, made locally by French Renault's unit Dacia Automobile, was the best-traded brand on the local new cars market in November with 1,493 units, followed by Volkswagen with 490 units and Skoda with 396 units.
