Over 3,500 schools affected by bad weather

Over 3,500 schools nationwide are affected by the bad weather, according to collected data centralized by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport (MECTS). “Schools across 20 counties work as usual, whereas the rest of the counties reported several problems. Thus, in 6 counties the County Committees for Emergency Situations decided to suspend classes both in the rural and urban schools, as follows: schools are closed in Gorj on February 13-14, in Giurgiu on February 13-14, in Mehedinti and Vrancea also on the same days, in Dolj and Olt on February 13. On the other hand, the county committee decided to suspend classes in Buzau on February 13 only in the rural environment, while the local authorities took this decision for the whole Valcea county, except for Ramnicu Valcea town,” MECTS reports.
