The Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) has announced on Friday that in the first round of the presidential elections (November 2) 18,336,254 citizens have the right to vote; in the second round (November 16) the number is 18,334,071.

According to a press release of the AEP, 530,446 Romanian citizens residing abroad can vote on November 2, and 530,652 on November 16, according to data supplied by the General Directorate for Passports.

AEP reminds that according to laws the permanent electoral lists are drawn up and printed by mayors based of data and information in the Electoral Register. The lists must be drawn up in every locality and must comprise all the citizens that have a right to vote residing there, in accordance with the data in the personal identity cards issued by the Romanian state.
