Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi said, on Monday, in an exclusive interview given to AFP, that the political elite of the country “did not dialogue enough” with the citizens, while protests continue for a few days in Romania.
“Political elite – all parties together – created in these 20 years did not dialogue sufficiently with civil society,” said Baconschi, vice president of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL, main at rule).
Referring to “slowness of a rather bureaucratic state”, he explained this dialogue deficit through a “certain autism of the political elite in these last 20 years after the fall of the communist regime”.
