Detachments of the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) were deployed in the past 24 hours on 22 emergency support missions in the areas affected by snow and blizzard in southern Moldova, Muntenia and Dobrogea; 1,580 troops with 88 land, water and air craft participated in such actions that are due to continue, informs a MApN.

Thus, following instructions from Defence Minister Gabriel Oprea, the airlift coordination center established at the headquarters of the Air Transport Fleet 90 in Otopeni continues the flight planning and execution operations intended to supply remote localities with food.

‘Depending on weather conditions and the on-site situation in cut-off settlements, the emergency supplies will also be taken by land to dedicated relief centers,’ reads the cited release.
