MAE: Germany reiterates support for Romania’s accession to Schengen Area on schedule

Romania’s Foreign Minister Andrei Marga on Wednesday welcomed Germany’s ambassador in Bucharest Andreas von Mettenheim, who voiced Germany’s support for Romania’s accession to the border-free Schengen Area according to the schedule agreed upon, the Romanian Foreign Ministry (MAE) reports. The two officials also discussed issues of bilateral interests and European as well as world affairs. The two officials also underscored the excellent economic and political cooperation between Romania and Germany evidenced by the frequent high-level meetings of the past years and the consolidation of Germany’s position as a top trade partner of Romania’s.
