Labour Minister: Over 287,000 Romanians contribute to value added of Germany’s economy

here are 287,000 Romanian citizens who are living and working in Germany, thus contributing to the value added of Germany’s economy, and in this context, Romania and Germany will sign a memorandum of understanding on supporting the youth, the vulnerable groups and the elderly, Minister of Labour, Family, Social Protection and the Elderly, Rovana Plumb said on Thursday after meeting her German counterpart Andrea Nahles. “I congratulate Ms. Nahles for having adopted together with the federal Government and the Merkel Cabinet a host of measures as regards employment and social assistance, but mainly on her official stance concerning the freedom of movement for workers in the European Union. There are 287,000 Romanian nationals who are living and working in Germany, thus contributing to the value added of Germany’s economy, and I want to thank both Ms. Minister and the entire Merkel Cabinet for the way they treat and respect the Romanian workers,” Rovana Plumb stated.
