How much will pollution tax be worth as of January 1st?

The most economical new cars will be subject to a pollution tax of 50 euros as of January 1st, with its value growing to nearly 1,900 euros for over 4.0-litre engine cars, such as is the case of the Audi A8 and Mercedes-Benz S-Klasse saloon cars. The lowest pollution tax for a car among the top-sellers on the Romanian market starts from around 70 euros, according to data from the Environment Ministry and is aimed at 1.2-litre engines that power models such as Dacia Logan, Volkswagen Polo and Renault Symbol.
