Last of the 240 wind turbines in Fantanele-Cogealac wind farm (south-east, on the Black Sea shore) was connected to the national power grid, CEZ Group spokesman Angelica Barbu on Friday.
According to her, the total installed capacity of power generation equipment in the largest wind farm, on continental Europe, is 600 MW, enabling it to provide electricity needed each year by over one million households in Romania.
“The first turbine went into operation on June 1, 2010. The last turbine was connected to the grid in less than two years. Between the two events, the wind farm has already generated 1,646 TWh of electricity “, Barbu pointed out.
