Eight wind farms approved so far in 2011

Eight wind power projects have signed contracts to connect to the grid since the beginning of the year, with a new giant farm receiving the green light after the 600-MW project of the Czechs at CEZ - the investment of Spain's Iberdrola, which, after this stage of approval, can start construction work.

According to data of Transelectrica (national energy transmission company), from the beginning of this year until mid-March, around 1,300-MW wind power projects, equivalent to the capacity of two nuclear reactors of the Cernavodă power station, had signed contracts to connect to the power grid.
