1,500 turbines and 5bn-euro investments expected by 2015

Positive news about projects related to thermal power stations, hydro-power stations or nuclear reactors lacked completely in 2010, while wind energy became the new star of the industry. In 2010, 200 windmills were installed in the wake of investments of around 800m euros.

In 2015, the most downbeat scenarios bet on 3,000 installed MW, namely around 1,500 turbines and investments of around 5bn euros.
Wind energy is one of the few fields where investments hit a record high in 2010, with the money being invested by giant energy groups.
