Transport Minister: Cernavodă-Medgidia motorway will not be completed in 2011 after all
04.03.2011, 09:53 | Transportation | 964 views

Anca Boagiu, transport and infrastructure minister, is starting to have increasingly more in common with her predecessor, Radu Berceanu, as well as with other previous transport ministers, such as Ludovic Orban and Gheorghe Dobre, who, although they had 2 billion euros per year at their disposal, only talked about building motorways, but failed to walk the walk.

Since her appointment in September 2010 until now, Anca Boagiu has promised several times, even as recently as a week ago, that Autostrada Soarelui (A2 - Sun Motorway) will be ready by the end of the year.

However, on Wednesday night she announced on Pro TV's evening news programme that the ministry could terminate the contract for the Cernavodă-Medgidia section, signed with French company Colas, and that motorists will be able use the motorway to go to the seaside, but will have to use bypasses between Cernavodă and Medgidia.
