Romanian President Warns Unsolved Corruption Cases Mean Unfavorable EC Report

Romanian President Traian Basescu told a news conference Monday that, if the country fails to make progress in solving high-level corruption cases, the report on justice the European Commission will release this summer will be negative. The head of state said the most significant aspect noted by the EC interim report released Friday concerns high-level corruption cases which, according to the report, "have seen little movement in court".
