Janos Martonyi: we are looking for a compromise for Romania that fulfilled its obligations and Bulgaria to join Schengen

The Hungarian Presidency at the EU will do whatever is possible for Romania and Bulgaria to join Schengen, in accordance with the promises it made despite the opposition of Paris and Berlin, Hungarian diplomatic head Janos Martonyi declared.

The priority is to extend Schengen with the adhesion of Romania and Bulgaria, Martonyi declared in a press conference at Paris. He underlined that Hungary will do whatever possible to find a compromise. The Hungarian minister declared that Romania fulfilled its obligations but Bulgaria still has some problems.
