Brokers spend thousands of euros to show up next to Fondul Proprietatea in Google search results

Several brokerage firms have earmarked thousands of euros to be placed first in the results returned when investors look up Fondul Proprietatea on Google. The stake is the trading fees brokers would stand to collect if users decided to work with them to buy and sell shares in the fund. A simple "Fondul Proprietatea" search on Google turns up the websites of Ieba Trust, Estinvest, Prime Transaction, Tradeville and Goldring, well-positioned at the top of the page, above the official website of Fondul Proprietatea.
