Arval: New pollution tax has helped us in 2010, but affects next year's business

Arval, the operational leasing company controlled by French group BNP Paribas, estimates an increase in business on the Romanian market by up to 25%, according to statements of company officials, to around 25 million euros. One of the factors that contributed to boosting the business towards the end of the year was the announcement regarding the new pollution tax, which will come into force on January 1st. The future tax will be paid including for Euro 5 cars, with the Euro 5 emission standards to become mandatory for all new cars sold within the European Union, which are currently exempt from the tax.
